I expect the burning legion to attempt to build a portal to their Azeroth, from which then Illidan would have access to the WOD's Draenor. From there, the possibilities are endless, he would even go though the new portal to our Azeroth and wreak havoc.īut, how does he go from his Azeroth to WOD's Draenor? The portal being built in WOD's Draenor connects to our Azeroth, not theirs. Which means for us to see him again, Illidan would have to travel from 'his Azeroth' to the WOD's Draenor. But of course, his Azeroth isn't the same as ours. When Illidan found the Skull, he consumed it instead of destroying it, turning himself into a demon hybrid. Arthas told him that destroying an artifact called the Skull of Gul'Dan would seriously weaken the Burning Legion. He's a priest, and he's used Light magic just as much as he has Shadow (Shielding his father in Stormwind, Mind Controlling Sully in Pandaria.) Also, Velen sort of foresaw Anduin being the one leading the Army of Light against the Burning Legion. Meanwhile, Illidan led some night elves to Felwood and briefly fought Arthas, then the champion of the Lich King. If I am not mistaken, I think he is in Azeroth. Xe'ra sais Illidan, but she actually needs Anduin. The thing to ask then would be: Is the WOD illidan currently in Draenor, or in Azeroth? Since in WOD we aren't going 'back in time', but rather jumping to a different timeline with its own version of every character - then of course Illidan is very much alive in the WOD timeline. I am interested in hearing what other ways the fanbase would like Illidan to return or even arguements as to why he shouldnt be brought back. Thats just a story I like for the return of illidan. Then in the final fight, Illidan can be vital to finish off Sargarus. Illidan of course never looks like a elf again but looks more like some demon elf hybrid but he is Illidan once again. we find out that Elune is a Naruu and the light brings back Illidan. Illidan is then "cleansed" in similar ways that the ashbringer gets cleansed. We would then need to defeat him again only to have his brother stormrage keep us from finishing off the demon illidan and Stormrage captures him instead. He would even say you are not prepared when we pull him. We dont know he is the final boss in the first raid of that expansion but it is obvious it is Illidan the moment we see him.
WOW LEGION PTR FINDING ILLIDAN AGAIN FULL
So if I were to bring back illidan, I would have us find him in some demon world (like Argus in the final expansion) as a full fledged demon.
When Demons are killed they are not really killed their body is destroyed in this plane of existence and they are banished back into the twisting nether (or wherever the demon comes from). Illidan consumed the skull of ?Guldan? and changed his form. If I were Metzen I would use current lore to bring back Illidan, as it is there even if it is stretching it a little. So the question is how would Illidan return? Blizzard has even hinted that Illidan will make a return. So we mostly agree that Illidan was wasted in TBC, and even Blizzard has said that they are not really happy with how Illidan was used in TBC.
